Welcome!
Depends on the size of the tank, and particularly the lighting in the tank. Anemones are photosynthetic animals and need proper lighting to help them survive.
Give us a rundown on your tank.

i have a 55 gallon tank with a 48" coralife light, it has 2 65 watt atenics and 2 10,000k white lights. im sure that i can support most anemones i just have no idea what to get that will host them.

Just about any of the Heteractis sp. are natural clown hosts. Be careful with the Long tentacle though they are fish eaters and have been known to eat there host clownfish too. Tell us more about your lights. Are the Power compacts, T5 HO, T5 VHO?

Ive heard that long tentacles will eat there fish but would you say thats rare or that happens often, i really have no cule. I have Power compacts with 2 65 watt atenics and 2 10,000 k white lights. im pretty sure that they can support most anemones and corals, but my purple mushrooms have kinda been acting up.

48" power compacts will most likely support an anemone, not even a BTA. And yes Long Tentacle Anemones will eat fish if the opportunity presents itself.

With power compacts the only host anemone I'd suggest is a bta, the others are more light demanding.
Thank you, I just lost my octopus the other day. I am expecting a new one Tuesday.

went to the fish store today and bought a green long tentical anemone, and a mexican turbo snail. the anemone seems to be doing fine though. What happened to your octopus?

Unexpectedly he just died. It was sad, but it happens.
Good luck with your new anemone. Would love to see a photo.
