Clown Trigger color

My clown trigger seems to have lost some color over the last couple of weeks. My water tests out ok, and his behavior hasn't changed. He eats everything I put in there, but I'm wondering if he's not getting something in his diet that helps with color. Could this be the case? Possibly something else? Any ideas would be great.

what are you feeding? have you tried to add an algae sheet, alot of triggers really like them. A fresh, varied diet is the key, adding selcon or vitamins doesn't hurt either.

I agree. Does he look nice & plump? A healthy trigger should. IMO, food additives (like Selcon) and a varied diet are absolute musts if you want fish to keep their colors (and health). As said above; algae sheets are great and almost every fish needs some greens. (puffers love them too.) Also, I noticed your profile just listed a 30 gal; a CT, even a small one, can't stay very healthy for very long without a lot more room.

I feed him whatever seafood I get for myself; I just cut up some raw scraps and he goes nuts. He's always plump looking, and he tells me when he's hungry by popping the water's surface with his mouth. He gets a really varied diet, but I'll try putting more greens in there. Right now his greens are limited to a few cubes of Emerald Entree a week.
The color loss seems to be limited to his yellow saddle, but it comes and goes.
He's not in a 30, but a 55. I understand he'll need an upgrade pretty soon.

Sounds like he's doing well. Soaking food in a supplement. like Selcon, really helps with color--IMO&IME.
