I bought a baby clown trigger this week. I plan on later adding a dogface puffer. The dogface will be a larger than the clown. Can this work? Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Possibly,,,,I usually don't advise mixing them although many people have successfully kept them together. It is good that the clown is smaller than the puffer. When the clown gets larger and mature, you may have a problem. But when he is small, they should be ok. Bo

A little more aggressive than the dogface is the guinea fowl or golden puffer (Arothron meleagris), might be better suited as a clown trigger companion - given enough space.

if need be before you add the puffer move the rocks around a little causing the trigger to resettle himself and ignore the puffer so he can establish a spot of his own

Clown Trigger's like all trigger's are very much individuals. You should be fine with the two of them growing up together.
Watch your water quality since both of these fish are really messy.
