This might be shot down like a fat pheasant. But could I put these two fish together? Not now but down the road. And what size tank would be good?

Heres my answer for you, but yes you can keep these two together, I've done it no problem, just depends on there temperment. If you get a nice large aquarium with plenty of spots for each fish to have there own territory then you should be all set. Although there is a possibility that one or the other might just snap and kill the other one. It just the luck of the draw basically. Introduce them simultaneously and the same size also. I think that in this hobby that there are no 100% correct answers with fish compatiablity. There are so many exceptions and loop holes that you could almost get any combination under the right conditions to live together. Just my 2 cents take it how ever you want, but best of luck to you and your tank

Yes it can be done;) But like silkks said there are some things that you can do to help the situation and increase the chance of the fish getting along! IN my experience try and get your undulate from the red sea, mine is from the red sea and for a trigger is pretty mellow! Also I think male undulates are more mellow than females but it's just my opinion. Also make sure the tank is of a good size I would say 220g or more because youhave 2 fish which could reach possible sizes of 16" and with bruisers like this, especially 16" bruisers with mean streaks it's very important to let each one have it's own space! And the last task, and I call it that because it might be kinda hard is to find some suitable tankmates so the 2 of them don't have to stare each other in the face all the time! But hey it can be done!

if u want a tankmate, maybe get one of those huge eels that are like 5 feet long. Either a spotted moray (4feet) or a Tessellated Moray(5.9) feet long. my lfs has one of the latter ones and sometimes i just go there and stare at it cause it is so awsome. u might wanna go with like 250,300 gallons tho. Also i figure just the shear size of the moray would keep the trigs at bay, but hey ya never no, they put a domino damsel in with the moray and he lived for a little while. :) he was a mean fish.
