Clown Trigger

Hello, how is everyone? Anyway, I'm getting a new 90 gallon and I want to get a clown trigger for sure, my question is what would be a beautiful tank mate for him. What I want would be a large angel, maybe a marine betta, or ever a large powder blue tang. Has anyone had success with any of these but if not what have you had success with? Thanks

I had both a clown trigger, and a powder blue in my tank at the same time. There were no quarrels, but the trigger did grow a lot. So, I think that you should be fine, but the tang needs to have a very high water quality, or disease will run rampant. Hope that this helps, but realize that a bigger tank will be needed in the future.

First of all, a large angel is out of question because not only does it require at least 120G...or 180G in the long run, but it is likely to be beaten up when the clown gets older(>4"). So is marine betta for the same reason. However, I've seen some people have success with keeping a clown trigger with aggressive tangs like clown or powder blue. I personally think the clown should be kept singly, but if you must have a tankmate for your clown, then go with powder blue. I think that's your best bet. Hope this helps!

Clowns are known for turning against tankmates. I would advise against putting one in a small tank with other fish. May be fine for a while, but eventually it will turn on it's tankmates. Go for a more passive trigger, and you would have a lot more choices.
