I wanted to add a clown trigger to my boss's 210 office tank here is the current stock list. it would be a medium 2-4 inches from this site i'm not sure if they would send a 3 inch a 2 inch or 4 inch..the question is does a clown trigger need to be in a species only tank like the undulated trigger ? will it fit in to this list ? It's a FOWLR 300 lb's of LR in it.
1-Purple Tang (medium)
2-Huma Huma (small)
3-Golden Heart Triggerfish (medium)
4-Niger Triggerfish (red tooth) medium
5-Black Foxface (medium)
6-Crosshatch Triggerfish (medium)
7-LMB (medium)
8-Powder Blue Tang (medium)
9-Blue Face Angelfish (medium)

It's extremely iffy . I would not atempt it . I am not sure about the GHT but I know that the humu humu will get to be a bad dude as it gets bigger as will a clown trigger . You could end up with a war on your hands .

The humu is 1 inch.
the GHT is 6 inches not as aggresive as many people think.
but adding a clown could bring out the aggression. I try to keep the triggers very docile by feeding them with greens nori pellets occasionaly silversides and other kinds of formula 1 and 2 frozen prepared cubes. so far they are all peaceful.

I had a huma a niger and a clown with a few tangs and damsels a hawg fish........in a 125 for about a year. No problems, but I heard that if I would have kept the eventually there would have been a slaughter. Being that clowns get bigger than the others and are the most aggressive, I would assume it would eventually take over. My huma was my favorite, he would eat out of my hand and let me "pet" him. Wish I would have kept him.

Wow some really neat fish in that tank...any pics? I would love to get a clown...Have no expirience with one, but I would not attempt it unless I had a tank specific for it. Just too risky from what I have read about them.

looks like the tank is fully stocked to me. i wouldn't want to ruin such a nice tank by adding a monster.

Though it would be okay with the big fish in the tank, you would probably lose a couple of those fish by adding a clown trigger.

there's a full grown clown trigger at my LFS and they staff calls it "sadistic"
it's extremely aggressive and has to be alone
they cant even clean the class without it attempting to bite their fingers off and they will even try to "push" it away and it doesn't even care it comes right back to bite them
its quite funny actually!!!

just my opinion but what's the point of having a 100 gallon or so tank with 1 fish in it i dont get the point of a species only tank the onlyu a clown mantis shrimp or a undulated trigger or a clown trigger...I would preffer a reef tank or a community of fish..not just 1 pet..but thats just me...

Thats me too; but everyone has their own taste. I have a feeling most CTs are sold without the thought you've put into this. Then, when they go postal, the choice is new species tank or get rid of him. Because they're so personable, a lot of folks invest in a 2nd (or 10th) tank. I was trying to make a community, that included a small Ct, work several years ago. In one day, the CT had killed, either directly or through stress, 4 fish---all at least twice his size and considered to be "aggressive" fish.
When I got home, he had a large harlequin tusk cowering in a corner. The tusk was chewed up & colorless--but survived.

there has to be tank mates that are more aggresive then a clown trigger take a 4 inch clown trigger and put him in a 210 fowlr 300 lb's of it there has to be more stronger and more aggresive fish out there...the clown trigger isnt the beast of the sea..or home aquarium. so if any can list them that would help.
who win win a battle one on one a mantis shrimp or a clown trigger 6 inches ?

Clown trigger .
A fish being more aggressive than a clown trigger would not make it a sutible tank mate . It would just make the mayhem more likely . A queen trigger is far more aggressive than a clown or an undulated . But does not belong in a home aquarium .

I have a clown with a lion emorer and an eel for a few days so far with zero problems. I have hermits and snails and he doesnt care about them. One of the hermits took his shrimp away from him. My lfs has a 10 inch ct in a tank full of hermits none have died. Also in that tank is a lobster and several 1 inch fish. He is very peaceful. It may be just a coincidence. I am not telling you yes just my experiences so far. Also I have caught a queen trigger fish on a 6 inch live mullet while deepsea fishing. VERY agressive.
