clown trigger

I bought a clown trigger over two years ago and almost immediately it lost all its color. It's yellow and white, instead of yellow and black and white. No black at all. I thought it was going to die for the first month, but then it fattened up and eats like a pig and has more than tripled in size. It's in a 100 gallon tank with a purcupine puffer, humahuma trigger, panther grouper, sailfin tang, and a snowflake eel. I feed a combination of frozen foods (krill, formula mixes, squid, trigger formula food) and seaweeds, and flake food in the morning. I've had the tank up for four years and all the fish are doing great, except he's just big and ugly - no color - but he does have personality (mean). Does anyone have any recommendations on what could cause that problem? And/or what (if anything) I should be doing to aid him.

Gonna move this to the aggressive forum to get input from the folks there...but a link will remain in fish discussion too!

My first thought was that it was cyanide caught, and that is what caused him to lose his colors. Not giving a diversity of food can also be a problem, but it looks like you are doing that. I'd soak the food in vitamins and color enhancers to see if it helps any. Bo

Where was the fish originally from? If it was from the Phillipines then there is a good chance it may have some cyanide poisoning. Even if the fish was not caught with cyanide, it can still be affected by eating corals and seaweed that has been previously dosed with cyanide.
