clown with clowdy eye...

hey,
My percula clown has a milkyish, foggy colored eye.
and i dont understand why, because he eats great,
my water parimeters are all perfect, and he has not changed, he is very healthy, but the only problem is his eye.
I set up a QT, but after 7 hours in there, he looked like he was going to die.
i had an air pump, and the right amount of chemicals to treat him with, so i just took him out, put him in my 92 reef, and an hour later he is perfectly fine, and entergetic.
BUT... his eye is the same.
Any suggestions i would greatly appreciate.
Thanks,
Adam

Try a large water change with aged water. Improving water quality will often cure this problem by itself. What are your actual readings? Has there been any recent trauma (e.g. netting or aggression from other fish) before the eye turned cloudy?
Is your QT cycled? If the fish does not improve you may need it to try antibiotics (e.g. Maracyn2 for saltwater). These should not be used in your display tank.

No i have not done anything recently to cause this,
and what do you mean a cycled QT?

Many people keep up a QT at all times for new acquisitions and for treatment when issues like this one arise. If you had a QT that had cycled, your fish wouldn't have been stressed out when it was in the QT.
If the fish does not improve on its own, use an antibiotic in the QT only. Make sure you use water from your display to minimize any chemistry differences when you set up the QT.

Up to you. I would probably base any decision on how the fish is doing.
Has the condition of the fish changed since yesterday? Any signs of worsening should prompt more aggressive treatment.

Perhaps you should just feed him some high quality foods soaked with garlic and continue to assess his condition. Good Luck!

ok thanks!! :D
Now i am treating him with this chemical in the display tank, and i started yesterday, and it will go on for a week, then i will do a 25% water change.

Tuna, it is not a good idea to put medication or treatment "chemicals" into your display. What exactly did you put in to your display?

thats a good med, i used it for my niger trigger, most of the time they will get that clowdy eye from an injury, like the triggers allways try to get into a "cave" in a piece of liverock, and wind up scraping their eye, i used the same med and he healed up just fine, all is well now, good choice !!! and good luck.............

Mr. Tuna, have you checked your specific gravity? My damsel had the same symptoms as your clown. My salinity had gone up. (Didn't do freshwater top off as often as I should have) When I added enough freshwater to make the salinitycorrect, he looked 100 percent better within 24 hours. Good luck.
