Hi all,
My gold stripe maroon clown has started looking worse for the wear lately. When I first got him he looked fine, though there were some 'flaws' in his stripe I gave them no thought. Well as time has gone by, those 'flaws' seem to almost look like cavities now.. I'll post some pictures but the phone I took these with didn't take the best photos... I'll try and get better ones ASAP. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't know if I need to worry about the other fish in the tank, or if this is just something with that particular clown...

Welcome back! Can you get a closer picture of that? It is hard to tell what exactly is going on there. In the meantime, is there any redness or sores there or just an indent? What are your water readings? How long have you had the clown?

I was sort of suspicious of HLLE myself which is why I was nervous....
AS for the pictures, if I can get a different camera I'm sure I can. The phone I used doesn't seem to zoom or anything so that's about as close as I can get him to come .. and even then that's because his LTA decided to relocate, otherwise he'd have been way in the back of the tank where I couldn't see him at all... Which is how this progressed this long without me noticing...
As far as the redness, I'm not real sure.. It's hard to tell on a maroon clown, but there does seem to be a darker ring around the white indent shown in that photo that didn't come across in the picture....
I've had him for about a month or two now, closer to 2 I think.... The other fish in the tank look fine thus far, so I was wondering if it was some issue he had rather than an entire tank medical emergency...

That kind of looks like a big ole sore verses HLLE.
Yeah, it's not down the side like you'd think HLLE would be, it's just right on his stripe and it's a circular shape.... If I didn't know better I'd say he ran into my long spine black urchin and got punctured... However, right where that spot is now there was always a discoloration or flaw in his stripe that had been there since before I bought him.... So I'm pretty sure this is something he came with so to speak.... He might have been suffering from the onset of HLLE and the move stress combined with his anemone moving around on him might have aggravated it? I don't know, just a guess.

None of the other fish in the tank are showing signs of this sort of thing. There's my Volitan, a female bird wrasse, a hardwicky wrasse, a bangaii cardinal, and a dragon gobby all of which seem to be fine. The Voltan's coloring is a bit 'red' but she always did have some purple and red in her even when I purchased her. (I'll post a picture elsewhere later tonight if I can get a shot of it).
Thanks for all the input thus far all... I'll post better pics if I can get them tonight!

Like Sep said, you really need to grab a better pic.
Kind of reminds me of a worm wound like in this fish. It started out pale at first. But really, what you have could be many many different things and a good pic would help with that.

What has he been eating Weatherby? Post your readings for us. I agree with Cranberry that it seems more like a sore or injury than HLLE, but we will be able to tell better with a closer picture.
