I have one tank raised perc in the QT tank who has been in there for 3 1/2 weeks recovering from ich. I want to get another one but was concerned with the fact that people say to get them all at the same time. The current one will be back in the show tank by the end of the week and i was looking at getting the next one at the end of feb. Well i have a problem with them fighting or not getting along?

if it is a little guy, then buying a nother lil one, that does not look like it has paired up, should be ok, now, they are stil very young, and probably both males yet, get it now, and put it in the q tank with the other and see how it goes, if they get along fine, and pair up, you could keep them both in there til the new one is done with it's q, but it really is hit and miss, especially if one or both of your clowns was the larger more dominant female

do u have any live rock? cause if u do... take out the clownfish u have now when you're getting ready to get your new one and rearrange the live rock. Add both fish in at the same time and there will be a greater possibility that they'll get along ;) . I love my two false percs! :p

yes you can get another one. Though it may be too soon for me to say that. I have two clowns. We had one for about 8ms (only fish in the tank for about 4) two week ago we bought another clown, the new one was small. the older, bigger one terrorizied it. I came on here begging for help to get these two to get along. This is what we did (you may also search for the post "Help any way to get two fish to get along? or something like that)
We put the big in a bag over night (only cuz we had already let the little one out). the next day we covered the tank (lights were off but we covered to prevent outside from getting in), when the bigger one stopped trying to attack the little one through the bag, we moved a few pieces of lr around. then let her free. We kept the lights off till that night, but removed the cover (a black sheet). They seem to get along ok. The little one follows the big one around all the time, but there is no sign of any damage.
I did not come up with this on my own (other then putting the older one in a bag with my guy did cuz he didn't want the little killed). Check the post that was made.
Good luck. I love my clowns! they have so much personality

Fshhub - so it would be ok to add one to the QT tank when i am finished with hypo? I would rather have them getting along before i put them in the display tank. The lfs said to wait a month before i got one. I agree with that but if it would be ok to put one in the qt than i am up for that. I did notice that these tank raised guys are very hardy.

if the water in your qt tank is stable and easily maintained, i would see no reason why not, you could easily keep a pair in a 10 or 20 gallon for a couple of days(20 or so), but if it is a 20, i would not kep them in there for months, but if you need to q them later on they are gonna need to be in the tank together anyway,
i would, i woudl just make sure to get a runt, just to make sure it is a male, the one you have, you have no idea for sure, but 2 males, one will switch, but 2 females may be trouble, there are no guarentees ever, but your odds, ifeel, will be better and q-ing them together would make it easier to catch one in an empty q tank if need be than in your show tank
back to your q' you have had your clown in the q for 3 wks. so things should be pretty stable by now, and although i do not recc. going fast, they are not going into your main tank, so you are not risking your tank with disease or anything, but i would ot make it a practice to add fish to your q all the time, while other fish are q-ing

yea the ich is gone. I've done the hypo treatment for just over 3 weeks now and am in the process of rasing the salinity. Should be up by the weekend. I was then going to add another clown to the qt tank maybe next week and see what happens.

I had a perc in my tank a few months and decided to add another knowing there would probably be a battle.
Sure enough. They fought like crazy a couple of days and then everything was fine. After determining who the dominant female is they now hang out together.
Here is another thing. I also have a sebae clown in the same tank as the 2 percs.
I think I am one of the few that have had success at this though as a majority of people say that mixing clowns will not work.
