Clownfish compatibility

Can I have a pair of black Ocellaris and a pair of orange ocellaris clownfish in a 55 gal? My son is mesmerized by them and really likes the different colors but I don't want --- to be a last man standing match in the end.

It is very seldom that you can have two pairs of clownfish in one tank. A tank smaller than a 150G is a definite no go for two pairs of clowns. They will fight with one another until you only have 1 or 2 left.

Yes, if they're both Ocellaris or both Perculas. You must make sure that both are the same species OR you'll have aggression issues. It is better to buy the pair together, with one being slightly smaller than the other. The smaller one will be the male and the larger the female.

Sounds good. I am glad I could at least have one and one. My son will really enjoy the color contrast. Thanks so much for the info!
