The eggs look great. They should be ready to hatch on Thursday. I'm going to attemp to get them. I got a 10 gallon all set up and ready to go. I'm just not sure about collecting them yet. I think I will try and scoop them up out of the water. I have been reading about that. I would take the rock out but holy #$%$ they are MEAN!!! I will try and post pic ... :happyfish

Do not attept to scrape the eggs off the rock. What you can do is after they hatch try to attract them with the flash light after the tank lights are out. If your serious about trying to raise them you should really get a chunk of the red pottery to put next to the nesting site. They will prefer this over the rock the next time.

I know not to scrape the eggs off the rock, I have been doing a lot of reading. I was going to attempt to put the rock with the eggs still attached on it into the 10 gallon. I read that when they hatch to get a pen light and collect them in a soup bowl then transfer them to the 10 gallon. I will
get a chunk of the red pottery to put next to the nesting site and hope that works. Thanks for the info. :joy:

Oh ok, looks like your on the right track. Personally I havn't attempted raising the young, but I know people who have. You should be fine if you can get the rock the eggs are on, but word of warning your fish are going to be upset.
