i have a large maroon clownfish that i got 2 weeks ago to pair up with a very small one. anyway the pairing went great and they have been happly living together for the duration. today when i fed my fish my large clown did not have the same reaction to the food as usual. in fact i am not sure that he ate at all. usualy he atacks the food and barely lets anyone else get any. yesterday he ate fine. also today i noticed a little white stringy thing comming out of his left side above his side fin. it is definately not ick it is like 2-3 MM long and flows in the water a little when he swims. my camera sucks so i will try to get a good picture when my friend can bring his over.
i just tested my water today and the readings are the following:
PH-8.2
Amonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-0
Please help :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

It was probably excrement. Try offering some target feeding with a turkey baster to see if you can entice the fish to eat. Or, try changing the food. Clowns love meaty foods, you may want to try offerring your fish fresh seafoods. Check out the receipe in the FAQ.
