Clownfish on Sand Bed

I have had my clownfish for just over 2 months, he was my first fish. So I just noticed that for maybe an hour he has been in the sand bed in the corner of the tank. The female has been "attacking" him doesn't seem affected by it for than normal. Anyway what's wrong, I'm really worried?

From what I've heard this is how the clownfish pair themselves together and is one of the process they go through when finding a male clown

It sound more like the female has rejected him and wants him out. When they mate they do a vertical dance like they are having convolutions. I would watch them, if it continues for another day you better remove one of them or the female will kill him.
