i have a pair of true perc for more than a year, more than 18 months in fact.
they've never laid any eggs. i gave them a ritteri anemone 3 months ago, which keeps them away from the rocks (the anemone stays near surface.)
do they just not want to spawn, or they can't find a place to?

Brine Shrimp are a relatively empty food source. If you want them to breed they need rich food and a lot of it.
My suggestions
Skip the Brine Shrimp
Skip the Garlic
Skip the flake food
Feed a mix of the following 2 or 3 times a day:
Mysis Shrimp
Minced Scallops
Minced Squid
Cyclop-Eeze is good
Thaw the food in the refrigerator soaking in Selcon
Keep in mind that the more food you add the more trouble you'll have maintaining ideal water conditions.

hello, I am looking into breeding clowns and was just wondering if the scallops, shrimp, and squid are the kind you can buy frozen in the grocery store. Also I was wondering what cyclop-eeze is. What are the veggie-matters you are feeding them? And this is all finely minced...correct? Thanks SO much for the help you have already given me!

That's what I use. Cyclop-Eeze is a brand name for a frozen or freeze dried zooplankton product. It's exceptional in its nutritional value.
Nori or similar dried algae can be easily crushed to make fish food. Spirulina Flakes are also acceptable but they lose nutrients very fast once placed in the tank.
All finely minced. Clownfish don't eat large particles in the wild.
