You're not the first, and you won't be the last. Because ocels are called 'false percs', LFS think that percs are the 'preferred'.
There are several ways you'll hear about, such as color of the eyes, and count of the dorsal fins.
99% of the time, you can tell by looks though.
Nemo was an ocel, they have much more orange, and thinner black stripes. As I type this, SWF's gift certificate fish looks like an ocel as well.
Percs tend to have more black, with the stripes being thicker.
