Clownfish with Pop Eye!!!

My clownfish has had a Pop Eye for about a week now... I tried melafix but no result, it has only gotten more swollen.
I went to my LFS and the guy who owns the place is very seasoned in this line of work. He told me to do a large water change, put the filter back in and dose the tank with Epsom Salt. 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons of capacity... He said that should take the swelling down.
He also said that he rarely does anything for his fish if they get a Pop eye... Perhaps the melafix has made things worse.
Any opinions???? Anyone ever heard of using Epsom Salt as the cure????

Epsom salt helps with the swelling. Pop eye is an infection. Have you checked your water quality? Is this fish new? It will usually go away on it's own if it is from an injury. Excellent water quality helps. If it is not going away then you can treat him in a cycled QT tank with Maracyn 2 for SW fish.

My Clown is about a year and a half old. He has had the pop eye for about a week now. Sort of worried. Is that enough epsom salt??? Maybe I should get him out and qt him.

If I do purchase the Maracyn 2 should I get powder or tablet form???? Or does it not matter???
It doesn't matter, but that medication HAS to be done in a quarantine tank. You will need a power head in the tank.

Do you know why? That is an infection and does not just appear. Have you added any fish that are chasing him? He could have scraped it, but not unless something was chasing him or there is another issue within the tank.

my clown also has these patches of white behind his pectoral fins... They aren't little spots but they have gotten bigger because of the stress with his eye... He still eats and is very alert.
