Can a person have a community aquarium of Clownfish? If so which species are compatable to the other. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.:D

NO you can only have one type of clownfish, such as only percs, or only Tomato. FOr example, you can NOT mix maroon's and percs, or any types of different clowns.

Ok Next dumb question. What should a person get for there first clownfish that has a good attitude and can I put in a couple of them if they are from the same species. Are there other compatable fish that have great color that I can place in the same tank? Just to let you know this is a 55gal. aquarium.

I think I am starting to get this but I just want to be sure. I am going to go with Percula's. Now can a person put a couple of different types of them in the same tank and will they compatable.

It is my understanding that if you want to have more than one you have two choices.
1) Buy a mated pair, the easiest solution
2) Buy one larger one, and one smaller one and hope the smaller one becomes a male and the pair becomes mated.
I, personally, purchased my two percs as a mated pair and they get along great. They chase each other every once in a while, but are never mean or nip at each other.

All clowns are born male. It's the dominant one that will become female and grow larger.
You can buy 2 small percs from the same tank and they may develop as a pair.

I want to thank everyone that posted a reply to this thread. You all have been a great help. It is nice to know that this saltwater world is just like having one great big family. I now know that a person can get great help in this world. It's very simple all you have to do is ask.
