clowns and algae

what kinds of algae do clowns eat.
i have a tiny tiny tiny bit of grape caulerpa that comes out from inbetween some zoo's and my clown attacks it ever time he sees it.
so cool to watch, but i didnt know that clowns would eat algae...?

I leave the sides and back of my tank alone so that algae grows for the tangs to nibble at...the clowns rub their bodies on the glass to dislodge the algae, then eat it as it comes up.
