Clowns and Flame Angel

I've heard a lot of stuff about flame angels bullying their tank-mates. would a maroon clown be better with a flame angel than a perc? . . . . 30 gal. hypothetically

Maroon clowns will bully the Flame. They also get big (6 inches). Dwarf Angels usually are semi-aggressive but they will calm down abit.

I have two false percs and a flame angel in my 55... they're best pals. My flame doesn't bother anything in my tank... Then again, it just may be this particular flame.

the maroon clown would be better with a flame angel than a perc, but i don't believe that is what you are asking.
a flame angel and a pair of percs would be better in a 30 gal, since a maroon will likely outgrow that size of tank.

If you add the flame angel last, it should be fine with a perc.

I just added a flame angel 2 weeks ago. I already had 2 percula clowns. The flame doesn't bother the clown. However it abhors my orchid dottyback which I've had for 2 years. The poor thing can't come out without the angel attacking it. The angel goes back tomorrow if I can catch it. I'm going to try a coral beauty angel instead.

For what it's worth we've had good luck so far with a Cherub Angel. Doesn't bother anybody and is actually pretty comical to watch when it trys to pick something off the back of our emerald crab.

I started with two false percs in my 39-gallon and added a flame angel later. I have never had any problems at all.
