if you are after color, clowns are very nice bright orange and white. lots of color in my opinion. if you want more color, gobies also come in many hues. but why limit yourself to one when you can have both. im not sure of the suze tank we are talking about. but if the space permits, i'd get both.

with a 10gallon you'd be pushing it if you had 2 fish IMO. maybe you can get away with 2 gobys. some gobys need big tanks. fire fishes are nice and yellow watchmens are okay for your tank.

IMO and only IMO I believe that clowns need a bigger tank than 10 gallons because they like to swim , also the wil grow fully to 3 - 4 inches , i always read that fish need 3 gallons of water per fish inch. BUT trial and error , if the clown looks stressed , bring him back to your LFS , but i would stay away from it if i were you , save money and heart ache , this is just IMO though others will say its fine . and im sure people have more expertise than me here , this site is so helpful; and the community here is awesome to , I consider all of you fellow hobbyists my friends i wish we could all plan a big convention
BTW nice tank setup also

you could go with neon gobies and probably get away with 3 or 4... they're pretty small and there are a couple different colors. I love gobies.

The book titled Clownfishes by Joyce D. Wilkerson advises how to set up a 10 gallon tank for a pair of false percs. IMO the challenge is keeping the tank stable, the clowns (ocellaris/false percs only) would be happy in that size tank. They hover more than anything and are happiest in pairs. So maybe a pair of clowns and one neon goby as someone suggested since they are small or a one clown and a watchman or something. I have a pair of clowns in a 16 gallon bow and they use less than half of the tank for swimming. Be consistant with daily fresh water top offs and weekly water changes. h*

I had a 10 gallon tank for exactly a year, with 2 ocellaris clowns in it. They definitely seemed happy and the tank was basically stable. But just yesterday I upgraded them to a 20g tank, and actually they are using every bit of that tank for swimming room.
I honestly think 2 small fish is the max you could keep in a 10g...

I spied your swing arm hydrometer..........I wouldn't risk the inacuracy with a nano, invest in a refractometer as soon as you are able. WAYYYYYY better. :joy:

Refractometers will cost between $30-50 and up, check the internet there are lots of sales going on. They are worth their weight in gold; quick and easy checking of tank and change water after every little adjustment. :happyfish
