I have 2 Ocellaris Clownfish that will not go to the anemone I bought them, it's their first anemone of course. Any suggestions on how to get them to go to it?

One of my clows i have had for three years, the other for 9 months....they jsut recently paired up and decided to host...they picked a nice rock with blue shrooms and pumping Xenia...some clowns like soft corals....i have heard of them liking fuzzy shrooms, mine prefered the regular ones. also i have heard of them hosting frogspawn and bubble corals. maybe get a few of those corals, give them some options....They may not host untill they want to spawn.

i was told you could put pics of clowns in anemonies on the sides of the tank to show your clown what to do, idk if this works

I don't have 1st hand knowledge of this but I've read numerous posts on a few boards with people claiming it to work. There is a chance your clowns will never take a host also. Keep your fingers crossed, be patient and hope for the best.

I have heard and read numerous times that tank raised clowns may never host an anemone. Mine loved the large featherduster that was a mere 3" away from my LTA. They chose to host the FD.

hey hot my clown hosted my FD's when the tank was a FOWLR, (no anenomes / coral). the Fd's both eventually died from stress. after time they stop opening up all the way and most likely starve to death. now the tank is reef and he is happy in his BTA :)
