Try to look up Vermitid Snail.
I have a couple of these, they grow in a little shell and spit out "cob webs" all over.

do the snails come out at night when there is no light? I get small looking snail things on my glass at night, they are probably lurking in the rocks...
is there a way to get rid of those things?
and let me guess I just have to scrub all te "cob webs" off?
ha sounds like fun.

These are stationary tube worms. I just suck up the webs when I do a water change or I use a turkey baster.
As far as the ones on your glass, could they be baby turbos or other?

suck up with what?
Do you think one of those gravel vacums would work? I might try that.
The ones on the glass do look like baby turbos. They seem harmless, havent seem them on corals, and the corals are growing fine.
Im also haveing skimmer problems right now...well, I havent had one for about a month.
Im trying to get my hands on a red sea prizm skimmer. Looking to have one in the next couple of days so that should help out a lot.

I don't think they leave there tube.
You don't have to scrub the rock the "webs" with go away..
As for the things on the glass Google copepods, they are a good sigh of a heathy tank.

The webs wont be there all the time, the snails shoot out the webs when there is food in the water thats how they eat.

I have a couple in my tank. Should see a tube with two antenna sticking out. The shoot out a web like material, stuff attaches to it much like a spider web, then the snail pulls it back in and collects all the nutrients. People have filled in their tubes with glue and starved them but unless they are covering your whole tank or bothering something I would just suck up the web like the previous poster said and leave them be. Just another species than helps clean tank.
