How many copepods should a person introduce directly into a 75gal tank, I see they sell them by the 200 count bottle. Can you add to many? I have about 75lbs. of rock and am getting 1 green and 1 spotted mandarin dragonet.
ur tank wont be able to support 2 mandarins. ur tank has to be at least 4-6 months matured and imo more lr b4 having even 1 mandarin. adding 200-400 pods will help seed the tank initially. u need more lr and a matured tank. otherwise ur mandarin will starve and die within 2-3 weeks.
I would not go with 2 for a 75. I had a 70 gallon when I first got my mandarin and then I moved down to a 40 gallon tank but I added a refugium. I was adding about 200 a week or a 1000 at a time every now and then to make sure that I had enough. As of the last week I noticed that my mandarin had been eating mysis shrimp but I still plan on adding copepods every month to make sure he still has a steady supply of food. I would only go with the one and add a refugium.
If it was me i would buy mandarins for my tank as long as i buy a steady supply of copepods and make sure they wont run out . So a word of advice as long as you buy copepods like every month or so you can keep mandarins
The mandarins are on the way so I will keep adding copepods every month and hope for the best. I have had the tank set up for about 3 years, just adding a couple more fish.
