I think a good water change will do more for your tank than this contraption.

Forgot to mention, I'm always WARY of adding a copper alloy to my tank...

I skimmed through the directions for it and saw "Please note that you’ll have to cut the brass air pressure fittings off both ends of the coils prior to dropping into the PVC cylinder
