Animal Attractions is a great store with really honest guys operating it. Not as big as some of the big lfs up in Denver like Reef Gallery...but for Greeley A.A. is pretty awesome!
I have pretty much purchased most of my setup through Animal Attractions (I've picked up a few odds and ends through the 'net) and they've been great to work with...
Where in CO are you?
Peace...

I do have to say that reef gallery tops my list and I live in the middle of kansas, so as you can see I am desperate to try any store and that one is one of the best in a 4 state area.

Yea...I went into Reef Gallery the other day on a lark and I was blown away! What a store! Plus their prices were pretty reasonable (or at least comparable)...
I wish their website had retail information and not just the service end of it...
Have you seen the rare black tang from the Christmas Isles they've got in one of the show tanks??? Pretty...
Peace...

Have you seen Oceans Apart
IMO it is the best store in colorado
It is at evans and monoco
A must see!!!
not cheap but the showroom and staff are worth
the extra bucks!!

Ah...Arvada's nice!
I'll have to cruise down to Ocean's Apart some weekend...as good as my local lfs is it's always nice to see other stores and what they have to offer (besides it's a nice way to kill a Saturday...)
BTW...how do you feel about the fate of Ocean Journey...seems to me that the Denver City Council should bail them out and support them the same way that they do the Zoo, the Art Museum, DMNS, etc. I'd be a great loss to see the aquarium go...
BTW again...it sounds like you have a helluva tank!!! :D
Peace...

How is the Denver Aquarium?? I live in KC and our city council keeps voting against an aquarium here, using Denver's failure as an example. If your aquarium fails, maybe they'll move it here!!
shoddy mac, Where in KS are you? Any good stores in central KS?? I've only been to stores in KC and Lawrence.

Well IMHO Ocean Journey (Denver aquarium) is awesome and extremely well done...however it has had it's financial problems.
On one hand however, the Denver City Council should (once again IMO) bring the aquarium under it's wing...Denver already provides public funding and management to MANY other worthwhile cultural and sports endeavors and needs to do so for Ocean Journey. Losing OJ from the LoDo/Platte River area would be very sad...
Without really not reading up much on the other side of the argument, I can't say the reasoning behind NOT bailing out OJ...(but I really should read the other side of the story...)
Peace...

I live in Highlands Ranch, I went to Ocean's Apart, THE BEST! I loved the trip I took to Ocean Journey, it was a bunch of fun, I wonder if they would sell some of there livestock cheap? if they do go out of buisness.

Do they have a nightclub in it? That might generate some much needed capital. I'd go to that nightclub every weekend and stare at the fish and the ladies!

Ocean Journey is nice!!!
I think they will get bailed out by the city
But for a business they should have put a convention center or something in it to generate
some more money in the first place.
The problem is once people have been thier they
have no reason to go back. esp. for how much it costs.

Oceans Apart is over rated..IMO. The live stock does seem to be good, but they are not cheap. The best overall fishstore is mile high aquariums hands down.

Tanked...where is Mile High Aquariums located???
Perhaps we could post a 'best and worst' list of CO lfs with addresses and phone numbers and such...
Oh...and back quick again to the Ocean Journey discussion...
IMO from the reaction the Denver City Council seems to be having (ie. "OJ got themselves into this...let them get themselves out of it!") I'm suspicious that there may be some animosity from the council since OJ came in as a private venture and didn't need/want government support (such as the Zoo, museums, etc.). Perhaps now they are waiting for OJ to go into bankruptcy and then either the city or another 'preferred' private individual/corp will then purchase it, getting the original OJers out...
Politics...

.Here's my opinion on the stores in CO and how I'd rate them.
Reef Gallery isn't a bad store, but their prices are terrible.
Oceans apart, has the most knowledgeable staff, and their prices are mediocre.
Great Barrier Reef, has the best prices and most diverse livestock. But their knowledge leaves something to be desired.
Sherman Tanks, should burn down

Neptunes in Highlands Ranch off countyline and University is a better store than Reef Gallary. Mile high Aqu. is pretty good but they should take out all the dead fish once in a while. and I agree Sherman tank should burn down.
