Just wondering if anyone had any opinoins on this stuff.
I just put 10 lbs of blue in my tank.
This type of sand was the only stuff that my LFS sold, blue or green colored sand. I dont remember the brand name, but all the bag said was it was non-toxic and for marine aquariums. It didnt say wheather it was argonite or not (im assuming it wasnt) or what size grains either.
It looks ok though. It was a real pain in the ass to rinse, so on the second bag I just dumped it in my tank and just scooped out the floating stuff with fish net.

Please tell me that you are putting this in a freshwater aquarium and not in a saltwater tank

Well,,,,, I guess that it is safe to say that it is not live sand. I have read where many people on here have a saltwater setup with no live sand and just have live rock. This isn’t the text book way of setting up a saltwater tank but I guess that you could use that just as long as you clean it often. I am sure that someone that knows more about this than me will chime in and give you more direction.

My little niece drove me CRAZY about wanting colored sand in a tank. So I set up a small 20 gallon and included that colored stuff. She has three damsels who seem no less for the wear. I’ve not had any problems with it and never saw any water readings to be concerned with. That’s my two cents.
And by the way, why is that we give our two cents, but you only a get a penny for your thoughts. Who is making that extra penny????????
