colt coral cutting?

I got a colt coral cutting today at the lfs. It is secured on a small rock with a rubberband. I asked the lady how long should I keep that rubberband on, she said she didn't know "Geez". So I'm asking you guys how long before the coral will be attached on its own without help from the rubberband.

I just cut 3 pieces from my colt. I speared them with a toothpick and rubber banded them to small rubble rock. I took out the toothpick and rubberband after about 2 weeks. Some cuttings may require more or less, but they all should attach pretty quickly.
