Colt Coral ?

I have a Toadstool Coral that I have had for about 6 months. It has been growing really well and has gotten big. The stalk on it including the cap is approximately 9 inches not including the polyps. The past couple of weeks, the bottom of the stalk looks like it has a bruise (really more like a hickey) on it. It started small but it has been getting bigger. Could this be some kind of disease or is it the stress of how big it's getting? Thanks for any info you can give me.

I edited the above message to say that it has gotten big. Does anybody know what is wrong with it. Should I frag it. Thanks...

Thanks for the info on the Colt Coral but my Colt is doing fine. It is my Toadstool Coral that has this problem. I must be losing my mind.

WOW!! Sounds like a pretty big toadstool!
You can still frag it. Send me an email and I'll direct you to a good tutorial on fragging them.

The only problem is my Toadstool is attached to a bottom rock. Can I cut it off the rock while it is in the aquarium? Does it sound to you like it is getting to heavy for the stalk and that is what is causing it's "bruising"? Thanks. My e-mail is basketmom@knology.net
