Colt coral is a soft leather finger coral. Coloration is generally between a tan and brown color. It is an aggressive coral and requires space between itself and other corals. Certain corals need to be placed far from this coral, as it will kill them. Often secretes a mucus coating during shipping to protect itself. Therefore, be sure to rinse it thoroughly with seawater before placing in aquarium. Easy to maintain. Requires moderate to strong lighting and moderate to strong water movement. Also requires the addition of strontium, iodine, and other trace elements to the water. The majority of its nutritional needs are received via photosynthesis. Foods such as micro-plankton or foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates can be given additionally. HTH,
