It looks like the top branch of my colt is about to seperate...I have heard they do this, but...should I cut it off at the bent area, or just leave it and let it come apart itself?
It will be a pretty nice size branch, and then I will have another one..

well how big is your colt? colts are really easy to frag. there is a few ways of doing it. i would suggest letting it letting it break away on its own. you can eather let the branch float around on its own until finds a new home. but this could take a vary long time. or what you can do is take a tooth pick and push it all the way threw the base of the frag. now take a small rock and a rubber band. rap the rock and the tooth pick togeather place it back in to your tank and it sit for about 2 weeks. after that time check to see if the colt has attatch itself to the rock. if so remove the tooth pick and rubber band. infact go to youtube.com and type in fagging colt coral. theres is a few videos of how its done.

It's probably a little over 6" tall...IDK if that is considered big or not...I've seen bigger..round...the main stalk is about 1" in diameter, and it has branches off that.
here's a pic from last week...looks small in the pic though.

It's not a colt - it's a 'kenya tree coral' (Capnella sp).
It will take care of itself - or you can cut it.

I'm not absolutely certain with that pic, but it definitely looks much more like the typical 'colt coral' (Cladiella sp.)

I knew the 2 looked different, but I thought it was due to size, and the fact that the bigger one seemed more stretched open...

Before you know it that Kenya Tree will be dropping frags all over. You can put a rubble pile below and they frags will attach themselves. Then you can trade/sale/give the frags away.
