Colt Question

OK. Here you go guys. amonia, trites, and trates are all zero. Calcuim is at 400. Dt's every other day of the recommended amount. Seachem reef iodide recommended dose once a week. B-ionic once a week to maintain levels. 20% water change every two weeks. 30 W of light on a 25. Like I said, lights are low, but he is close to the top of the tank, and I have a xenia at the same level that has been doing well for 4 months. Everything in the tank is doing great. All of my corals that I have bought have all perked up and looked better than they did at the LFS including the colt. He looks great, just doesn't stay open past 5 pm.
PS - Please don't lecture me on my lighting, I made a rookie mistake and am now buying a 75g w/ 440W of VHO to solve the lighting problem. I am not the type of person that lets things die and then just buys another. If I buy something it is to keep it healthy and happy for as long as possible.

I don't see what the problem is at all? My colt does what you describe all the time. It is about 4x larger than when I got it 6wks ago, and it has since split becoming 2 separate colts! Go by the growth rate and color and overall health.
Take a look at what's next to it, including any xenia. If there is another coral near it that could provoke this kind of a reaction, but, otherwise, don't worry about it.
I'm sure once you resolve the lighting, everything will be fine.
