I currently have one 20 watt compact fluorescent which is half blue light and half daylight. What is the purpose of the blue light? If i buy compacts with no blue light will they be sufficient? For live rock maybe coral one day?
Welcome to the site. Your lights are not strong enough for corals that require strong lights, xenia and zoos for example. However you can go with mushrooms and those that require none to very low light...there are plenty that you can have. Thy have great color too.
I don't know how to answer your question about the blue lights...too technical. My fish guru told me that the blue light is what coral feeds on more than the bright white light, but then I see plenty of people with only white light and no actinic.
