Like I said 1year,no lr/ls,30g w/ fluval 303/ 1 clarkii,2yellow tail& 1 valintini. Would like to get a Bi-color angle? Will that work? Where might I find an online supply store to get a test kit? I am thinking about getting rid of the yellow tails so that the new fish will have more room til I get a 46 bow front, does anyone know where I can get one for cheap? Thanks for the help, this is a great learning source.

Vallentini's seem to be VERY peaceful. Very cool fish. pretty small. Mine only is 1.5 inches. I would even say that they are reef safe. Many books lump all puffers as invert crunching messy eaters. I really dont think that this is the case. Their mouths are very tiny and they have yet to taken their toll on any of my inverts.
I think fixitdude has one in his reef too.
I say go for it.

Yep, and he is a cool little fish, just goes pecking around and at nite wedges himself in between some liverock and goes to sleep. And ya want to know something funny he is the only one other than my snowflake eel that are clarkie clown doesnt chase around He actually kind of took him under his wing when we first got him, the only time clarkie does any thing is if he gets to close to his or her I am thinking anenome but, all it does is gently go under the little puffer and nudge him gently away. now if our pork fish gets any were near the clown or anenome it chases the pork all over the tank like mad and not doing it nicely. But this will soon change, hes moving soon when the new tank is ready, they are all going out of the reef except clarkie the clown, and am thinking about getting another one to see if they would breed....cya :D

I think that if your damsels get to aggresive towards other fish, return them. As far as a bi-color angel, they tend to be one of the harder dawrf angels to keep happy and fed. How about a coral beauty or flame angel... they are pretty hardy.

Myself I would get the yellow tails out, we did and the fin picking ended, but still have them in the hospital tank tho. And we still have one damsel left in our main tank , the supposedly most aggressive one the domino damsel. Bought all the damsels at one time ,one yellow tail, one domino, one blue one, two shady, one huma huma. yellow tail killed the humma,so the rest like I said are in the hospital tank and, look to be the same size as when we got them, but the domino has gotten HUGE almost the size of our clarkie clown, I wonder why the other guys are not growing, I believe it tank size but have heard this doesnt affect growth from past post I have read. I am afraid of whats going to happen when we put him in the new 200 gallon, gosh that could be scary..

Would a Valentini work in my tank? I've got a 29 gal with 1 maroon clown, 1 red general starfish, 2 emerald crabs, and assorted hermits and snails... I'd probably be ok if he ate a hermit once in awhile as long as he didn't devestate my janitors... LOL!

Even though people have gotten lucky with small puffers that don't eat inverts, it's only a matter of time. I definitly think the puffer will pick on the starfish. They are easy to catch, and small puffers leave a nice little hole. Hermits are harder to catch, that's why you don't see to many people with problems with these. But be warned, puffers like inverts!!
