I dont really see the arguement here, I have a VERY new 125 gal bb and I do like it for the clean look and I like VERY much that I can vacume the detritus right off the bottom. The bb gives you the option of strong water flow patterns along the bottom of the tank, no argument there. For me right now it is the best option, I am very fond of people who can keep a real clean white sand bed, I do think overall it looks better in a reef, But why cant you keep the display bb, but also have a fuge with either mud or dsb to reap the benefits of the micro fauna, I do not think in a bb you have what is necessary to have a good pod population to support some fish, I one day would like to keep a mandarin, but i have a fear that my 125 bb would not be the best environment for him, and am now taking steps to plumb in a fuge, I think both have real advantages, I just like the clean look of the bb, and want to have the natural effect of the dsb in the fuge, in my opinion you can have the best of both worlds. so why argue?
