Conan leaves NBC

Sounds to me like he's gone
There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.

Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it's always been that way.
Yours,
Conan

OMG I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!! I can not stand Letterman
If he was the only thing on TV I'd throw all mine away

according to his statement he is committed to staying with the Tonight Show. And I am positive that there is a contractual agreement with millions attached to it if he breaks it. I think Jay needs to step down. I like Jay, but I think he needs to move on. This 1/2 hour thing will just be another debacle that NBC has created. NBC is totally to blame and Conan is only taking a stand for what he inherited. Jay should respect what he help build and pass on.

NBC is actually in violation of the contract by attempting to change the show time. They say Conan could just go sit on a beach somewhere and continue to collect a check until his contract expires.

It will be intresting to watch to say the least. I will bet you that NBC has it so that they will not be at fault for anything. If you think about it, who is going to leave the Tonight Show??? This whole thing was an experiment but NBC will lay blame right on the performers. I can't belive Jay would take a 1/2 hour show. Has top show, asked to step down to prime time, asked to step down for 1/2 hour........ After the monologue and commercials......"good night folks"......

My prediction is Conan gets bought out to leave and Leno stays. Whoever is in charge of NBC is a moron and this is just another example. Putting Leno back on was stupid. I agree that he should be the one to leave but I am not sure about his contract. In Conan's case according to TMZ who are the best at this stuff his contract stipulated he had the 11:35 time slot.

Does anyone like Conan that dont smoke hippy lettuce?
My old best friend from high school loves Conan, but hes an 8 foot tall, 23 year old idiot who never showers or shaves, lives with his mom, plays warcraft and (due to the stink) has never had a girlfriend even look in his direction.

Personally I don't think LENO should have ever left.....I liked things the eay they were....watched Leno, and before Conan came on turned off the TV LOL
AND apparently viewers liked it too....otherwise the ratings would not have dropped so much for the Tonight Show with Conan on it

I am with you, Leno did not need to go. But from what affliates are saying Conans numbers were down, because the viewership left at 9/10pm avoiding the Leno show and never returned. The local stations said their NBC rating went south at Leno. I gave it a shot a few times and I just didn't like it. But with that said, I also like that slot on other channels CSI, Numbers etc.

I like Conan, but his humor is dry and sarcastic, which a lot of people don't get for whatever reason.
I think he is better suited to be late night for just that reason. I know there is talk about Fox bringing him in and doing a 11:pM show but I am not sure that would work. If I owned FOX I would be praying Leno decides to leave instead. I think he would kill at 11.

I don't really view his humor as being very dry and sarcastic. I don't mind watching him. He's a pretty funny guy. I am just not going to make an effort to record his show or anything like that.
