concern about weight of tank on floor

I'm putting a 240 in my basement. Do you think the weight of this could do any damage at all to my floor? I don't want to have to take it done if something happens.

I don't think you have anything to worry about seeing that it's going on a secure basement floor. Now, if it was going in a 3rd floor attic, then I might have concerns.

hey slick,
it won't be any problem..... your floor is concrete/cement.... think about a bridge... its concrete/cement and it holds 40 ton trucks....

Right but I believe the floor it's self is only a few inches thick.

Most local code specifies that the basement floor should be a min of 4 inches thick with an average of 6 deep. Your fine. Ive got my 180 on the 3rd floor.

yea youll be fine.. i wouldn't wurry about it.. i have a 150 sitting on a porch floor w/ just water in it till i get out of my apt... i think its sitting on 4 2 X6's (if that sounds right)

I estimate my tank at 3500 lbs on a slab floor, on tile , no problems
