I purchased a conch on Monday, and havent seen him since. Do you think he could be under the sand for this long?

I had a fighting conch that used to hide for weeks at a time.
Couple questions:
what size tank
how old is the tank
what do you have living in there (fish wize)
Keep an eye out for his eyestalks peeking up from under the sand. Generally if they're buried, they're peeking up to watch for predetors.

I have a 20 gallon long tank with 2 false percs and 1 manderin...My tank has been up for about 3 months....I still have plenty of pods for the manderin and he has started to feed on live brine....

I have a conch in my 125 and I never see him. Once in a great while he ventures close to the front of the tank and I see him but not too oftin. Infact I was lucky enough to see him yesterday but todays hes back into hiding
