Condi Anemone and Clown fish

Well last week we purchased a Florida Condi Anemone as our first anemone to add in our tank. ( I am helping my FIance with her tank 4 months old)
I had done some small research on it not much. I placed it in the tank and it moved a few times until it settled. Then I noticed our Black clown fish started acting weird. She never wanted to go back to her nest. Then yesterday I noticed the fish had what looked like sting marks on her back and side. She was not eating and I figured ok maybe she can survive this one. Well she died this morning and she was my hardiest fish. You may not believe me but we cycled the tank with her and two damsels... So I am sure she was very strong.
Can this anemone have killed my fish? I am so disgausted.

You bet..
Condi do not normally host fish, and do pack a punch. There is an acclimation time where the fish actually is stung by the anemone, and taking in to account the size of your clown it very well could have died from the stings(stings appear as black or dark spots).
Now before I look like a big fat lier (my avatar with my clown in a condi)..... that was not a planned relationship. I added my condi before I had much knowledge of them, and would have added something else if I had a "redo" button. My clowns were stung by my condi but survived, unfortunatly I did lose a small bi-color angel, and a bi-color blenny to this anemone.

Thanks I do not know if I want to keep this guy as I lost my precious Clown and now I am going add a few more to replace the loss.

Dont bother adding a few clowns unless your tank is huge, or unless you buy a pair of juvis before they develop, they can be very agressive toward one another.
Its not a bad idea to get rid of the condy, most people who start out the hobby buy them because they look good and are really cheap, but they are a PITA. If your tank is big enough and you have enough lighting youd probably have better luck with a bta or sebae

Skip the sebae. Stick with a BTA as your learning anemone. They aren't easy to care for but are the most forgiving out of the clownanemones.

well today I got rid of the Condi. I was affraid it will eat other stuff in the tank. I am going to wait on Anemones for some time. I need to learn more. I have my plated coral and open brain doing just fine.
Some of your clowns need rehab for sure!!!
