condi anemone

I just got one of these and I am seeing small purple pieces in the tank. Is it normal for them to break off the tips? It seems to be ok and my clown seems happy with it.

I'm not sure what you mean but the tips should not "break" off and condis are not a natural host for clowns

I had a condi anemone before I moved and had to sell it; I really enjoyed it.
Mine did lose tentacles every once in a while, which looked like little purple worms in the sand; I never did figure out why or if it was a problem.
As LSU said, a condi is not a natural clown host, and they have been known to eat clownfish.

theses anemones are from much cooler water than what we keep them in; just a thought.

Thanks for the info. It has been about a month and the clown and anemone seem to be happy. The clown will grab food and bring it to the anemone. Very funny.
