Confusing

I do not understand why if anemones need light, why every anemone I have has moved either under a rock, or in a cave....

Too much flow, or not enough? I thought the issue with anemones was they like light...there's no light under a rock.

It could be either.
They don't usually like to be in the direct line of fire of a powerhead or return line. So they will move.
If there is not enough flow they will move to try to find a comfortable spot.

I wish I could just get one to stay where I want it to....

You could try to figure out how the flow is in the area where he is staying put. Then maybe try and recreate similar flow where you want him to be while reducing or increasing flow where he is but not so much as to cause a dead spot or sand storm

what size is your tank? what kind of anemone do you have?
some like to hide till they feel their safe, because they may be stressed,they
like to eat silversides so if you feed them,they will stay where they get the
food,mine is in a big rock.
half is on the bottom of the rock an half comes out
of the top of the rock, the rock has a hole in it an it like's to be inside the rock.
