I hear this from hobbiests a lot. I don't believe it's an accurate statement. If 1 gallon of limewater can maintain Calcium then 1.5 gallons per day is going to raise Calcium.
Makes sense to me that last statement had me scratching my head since I have been using kalk to raise my calcium for the last month or so.

Dripping KALK will increase calcium, i have a highly stocked 320 look down, and have a evap rate of almost 2 gallons a day, before i oput the cal reator on my system my calcium would drop to 320- 350, then i would drip 3 gallon of KALK a day to get it back to 515, and guess what it did raise it everytime.
