Converting to frozen

We bought a lovable fuzzy dwarf on Friday and he was being fed feeder guppies up to that point. Following a lot of research, before and after the purchase of him, we found that it is best for him to convert to frozen meaty foods as the guppies aren't nutritionally sound, or so they say. What is the best way to do this? We have been feeding him the guppies up to this point to make sure he was accustomed to his new home before trying to switch him over but haven't since Monday now. Can anyone share some tricks with me on how to get him to switch over? Also, we make our own food out of raw krill, octopus, shrimp, and mussels, is this sufficient or should we look at something else for him, that would be better? I have tried offering him frozen mysis as well this morning and he looks interested but no tastes yet???

Try some frozen silversides on a feeding stick. WIggle the silverside in front of him so he thinks it is alive. Once he eats off the stick for several days add different types food on the stick. Identify a feeding area and use this same area in the systrem each time.
Feeding freshwater fish will lead to fatty liver disease and the lion will die.

I agree with ScubaDoo. That's the same thing I did to get my V. Lion to start eating frozen. I think that it's not only the movement in the thing they are trying to eat but, I think it has to do something with the fact that it had eyes. I tried to feed him pieces that were broken in half (without the head) and he refused to eat them. However, as soon as anything with a head and some eyes fell in, it was gone.
I'm probably just nuts or maybe i just happen to have an extremely finicky fish.
Anyway, after it seems like he's hooked on silversides, start to intermix frozen coctail shrimp or other types of foods. Then he'll just get used to eating frozen foods altogether and he'll end up eating anything. Just remember to have some patients. Good luck!

It likes the eyes It must have the eyes. They eyes are what holds the souls . Eatting the eyes is eatting the souls.

You might try some garlic soaked squid in small pieces. I don't know I've never had a lion.
