Cool hitchhiker, Bad pic

The other day my wife went out and forgot to turn the lights on for the tank. I got home at 5pm to a dark tank and turned on the actinics. As i left the room cursing my wife, saw this little guy(also saw a baby turbo but too small for a pic

) I've seen some legs sticking out before but never a full star and never out in the open like this.
I actually felt a little bad, he scooted over to the algae clip and then had to hide behind it for 6 hours while the lights were on.

Do you think it might be time for a timer? Just a thought.

It is amazing what hides in the rocks when the lights are on.

yeah but the timers only cost like 10 bucks a piece .. you should get one

I'm actually getting one for when we go on vacation but we don't have one now because the kids like to help her turn them on everyday.

since my tank is right beside my bed, my tank is on my timer... so when i wake up, it comes on, when i go to bed, it goes off... and usually i turn on some neons (diy actinics) for an hour before i turn it off... get to see some nocturnal creatures of my tank, which is oddly every one of my snails
