If you're planning on keeping a mandarin, you'll need plenty of copepods,as this is their main diet. If you plan on seeding a new tank, live rock, or live sand will be fine. Coepods live in live sand and live rock .

What about a fuge? I might get one myself but I can't, not enough room.
They have a hang on the back fuge...anyway 1 bag is enough to seeda a 38g tank.
I agree with flower 1 bag is enough to seed almost anytank but they need time to be able to grow and multiply and create a large enough population before adding the fish. since you already have a fish that will eat them make sure to add them when the lights are off so they can find a suitable home for themselves to start breeding...
A HOB fuge would be a great idea and a pretty easy to do it yourself type of project. but either way the pods will be fine as long as they have a spot to grow and multiply in the rocks where the fish cant get to them.
Also if might be a good idea to check into pods and do a little research on them. there are different breeds of them and some breeds are from cold water.dont get me wrong they will live and thrive in our systems but for some reason when they mate more and more will be born as males eventually with out females being born the population will get smaller and smaller.(this is just what i have read and heard from other members) hope this helps!
