Copper band emergency

I just got home from school and my copperband has this huge gash on the side of him what do i do?

Do you know what from? Are other fish bothering it? Do you have a quarantine tank? How long has the fish been in your tank?

no i dont know what it is from and i dont have a quarintine tank and he has been in since Saturday afternoon

1 Clown fish (the other got stuck to the power head and died) 2 damsels a red scooter blenny and a Flame hawkfish

could be the damsels and/or the hawkfish. Keep an eye on them.
Also, you say the clown got stuck on the powerhead. Have you corrected this powerhead problem?

So I take it you have not corrected it? Well if you do not notice any aggression from your other fish, this would be my guess. It sounds like he got caught on it like the clown, but he might have had enough power to pull away from it. It will still leave a mark though.
I would put some type of sponge or pre-filter on there to prevent fish from being caught on it if it is such a problem.

I dont think it is the hawkfish when the copperband hangs by the hawkfish the hawk doesnt do anything

Since it's new to the tank. Perhaps, it got caught in your rock work. I would leave it be. I have a CBB and Sailfin. The Sailfin scratches himself up once in awhile. Once down to pink flesh and it usually heals in a couple days.

If you can, try to pick up some liquid Vitamin C, or some kind of frozen food that is high in Vitamin C to help the wound hear quicker. I have Vitamin C by Kent and that always seems to help me when I need it. I just put a few drops in their food and it seems to help heal any wounds a particular fish might have sustained.

Have you been able to get it to eat before this injury. CCB can be finicky at first. If it's eating, then you will stand a much better chance at it healing up and making it.

Ya it was eating before the accident i am feeding mysis shrimp soaked in garlic. but i will try to get some vitiman C. I get my lisence in like a month so it will be way easier to go to the lfs. considering my older bro gets off at 6 and thats when they close and my mom is pretty busy but takes me down there alot (and it is pretty far). Thanks for the advice.

I am sorry to hear that. I honestly think it was the intake of the pump. I know because I experienced the same thing with a puffer that I had just introduced to the tank one time. A day after I introduced him, he got stuck to the closed loop intake, and though he was able to pull himself off, it was a fatal accident. I am sorry to hear about your loss.
