copper in tank, help please.

some people want to convert from fo to reef. they have used copper in their tanks though. i have heard that the copper can even stay in silicone etc.
need expert advice on this one!

The only way too tell for sure is to totally clean the tank.then let it run with new water,substrate,rock,and filter pads for a couple days.Then get a copper test kit and see if there is any copper in the water.If not you are good to go.If it shows any copper at all you have a problem...

I used to have copper in my tank,took me 4 months to removed,with water change 25% every 2 weeks,and I used a Poly filter and Copper remover.

I used cupramine to treat my ich. did 2 or 3 water changes after that. when i tested my copper, it was 0. i think it was kindda easier for me.
