Copper testing

Is the copper test (salifert) that SWF sells adequate to test the water for trace copper?
How much copper is too much for invertabrates?
Are there any copper tolerant invertabrates?
I have a tank of questionable origin (It was definately used only for fish though) that I'm currently starting as a FO. I just want to know in case I ever decide to add corals.

I've never used the salifert copper test, but they make good test kits so I'd assume it'll work fine. Any copper level is fatal to inverts. You might get lucky and find a few super tough snails or crabs that can cope but for the most part it'll wipe out your invert population :( Nothing to stop you from doing a FOWLR though! :)

I believe it does i would have to dig up my test kit to be sure though I will do that later on.
but as leigh stated any copper level is detrimental to inverts. including corals but I will see what my test kits run to and post it for ya.
