Wanted to kill the ick and actually put chelated copper in my reef tank. Currently we do not have any inverts but we were planning on it in the near future. I am really upset that I did this and what is worse is that I was warned that copper was bad for inverts but I figured since I didn't have any yet that it was okay. I figured wrong. So, I have read that frequent water changes, polypads and charchoal will help to get the copper out. The medicine gave us a concentration of 0.25ppm. When I realized what I actually did I immediately did a freshwater change of 5 gallons. That was all I could do because I need more salt. Tomorrow I want to change out another 15 gal. Is this okay and how frequently can I change the water without stressing the fish to death. Some things I have read indicate that I should be able to use this tank and live rock for inverts as long as the copper is at .0. Any advice, suggestions, etc? Also, is chelated copper different than other treatments?
