If it were me i wouldnt be adding anything right now. Mandarins are not supposed to get ich. If the dt is not going to accoodate him,(LR>>>PODS)especially as you allready have the scooter blenny. Then he should go back. They are the same thing essentially.

Mandarines do not get ich because of their very thick slime coat. I agree that you realy should not have added anything yet though.

i do have pods and have had the scooter blenny for about a year and a half and he looks healthy as can be
whattsupdoc - sorry dont understand by "Then he should go back." where is back the lfs??
sepulatian - i agree with your reason that mandarines dont get ich because of the slimecoat but i also thought it was because they dont hace scales? could be wrong somewhere but i thought i picked that up somewhere.
i dont understand why i shouldent have added anything, since mandarins dont get ich then my tank will still be hostless for 6 weeks and the ich will die off because it has no host.

Scaleless fish are the most susceptible. It is because the slime coat of a mandarine is so thick that the parasite cannot attatch. The reason I said I would not have added anything yet is because I do not advise adding anything at all while there is a situation going on. You will be okay with the mandarine though.

i was reading around the fourms and some people said not to have 3 clown fish because two will pair up and kill the other one.
i used to have four but one died. does this mean that they will kill one? i had four for about a year and the other clown died about a week and a half ago. is this an exception because they were with eachother for a whole year? Its like they were a clan

They may be fine. Keep an eye out for any aggression.

Wonderful!!! Are you making a fuge, or just a place to store pods? If it is not going to be a fuge, I recomend a good powerhead and adding some very seasoned LR from another tank or see if the LFS can sell you some. The pods will be able to breed well in there. She will eat over 100 per day.

sorry i think you misunderstood, so my tank couldent be questionable as if it was fishless for 6weeks i took a 20g and filled it up with the DT tank water and took some really good live rock pieces and filled it up, and as a friend i put in a cleaner shrimp.

ok i got a problem
my Yellow tang isent doing so good, looked at him when i came home from school and hes kinda pale, it almost looks like skin peeling on a small portion of his body and he has some sort of fin rot, yet he is the only one not doing so good. his tank mates are a scooter blenny, 3 clownfish, a 6 line wrasse, and a damsel. sorry dont have tank parameters updated but hopefully im going tommorow so ill tell you when i know. i have heard yellow tangs dont do so good in hypo so i was wondering if i could take that 20g that i have and lower the salt to 1.009 and put the YT in there, and then leave it like that for a day or two and then raise it. he only has one more week to go from today, do you think i should go that route or leave him in the tank for one more week?

You could do that. Tangs can be sensitive to hyposalinity. They usually show it right at the end. There shouldn't be any ich attatched. If you move him, don't raise the SG if you don't have to. I am concerned that if by some remote chance ich gets transfered from one qt to the other, via the net or whatever and when you raise it the ich attatches again then you will be in a very sticky situation. You won't be able to re-hypo him just yet because he couldn't take it and it is iffy to use copper on a tang. Set up the 20 at 1.009 but leave him where he is for now. If he only has a week left than you should be ok. I would rather him be a little stressed now than have to repeate treatment.

Ok sep ive got a problem here, was reachering what was on my yellow tang, thought it was some algae on her, dicided to wait a little while to see if anything changed but it seems that i have a bacterial infection on the yellow tang(feel really bad now like i neglected her
), so far havent seen any symptoms on the other fish, although it would be hard to see it onl darker colored fish. here are some pics of her.

please tell me what the treatment is for this, i found out here https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/t/127010/diseased-fish-pictures post 18 looks alot like the yellow in that pic, the only thing that makes me unsure if its a bacterial infection is the pic of the copperbanded butterfly, because in that pic it looks like there is bleeding under the scales but it dosent look like that on my YT
could the other fish be infected already, is this disease contageous?
so please help me out here
need an answer fast

That is definately bacterial. Is she in a qt tank or the display? You can put her in the qt, if she isn't already and dose some Maracyn 2 for saltwater. It is NOT contagious, don't worry.
